Officers at Woodlands Police Station have detained a Paramilitary Officer for being drunk whilst on duty.
Constable Emmanuel Mukande was brought in after he got drunk and failed to secure a firearm whilst on duty as escort for Cash-In-Transit.
The incident occurred on Saturday, 15th July, 2023 around 11:30 hours at Chris Corner in Chilenje.
Constable Mukande was brought in by 42-year-old Matthews Daka, a Cash-In-Transit Crew Commander for G4S Security Company.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has confirmed the incident saying a Firearm serial No: 782242 with 30 rounds has since been secured and the officer detained in lawful custody for being drunk on duty and failing to secure a firearm.
